Enrolling your child for Kindergarten at Nara
Going to kindergarten is an important step for your child. It will help them learn skills that they will build on throughout their life.
At kindergarten your child will grow socially and emotionally. Their ability to think, use and recognise language and their fine motor skills will be developed through play, art, dance, music, movement and interaction with others.
Most importantly, your child will be learning to become and effective learner as they develop and extend their communication skills, build their self-confidence, learn to be creative and develop skills that assist them with reading, writing and mathematics.
3YO KINDERGARTEN (Koala Room) - 2024
Our 3 year old kindergarten program is delivered by an Early Childhood Teacher in a Long Day Care Integrated setting, providing the flexibility of long day care hours to meet the different needs of families.
The Kindergarten teacher contact time run for 7.5 hours (8.30am—4.30pm) on a Monday and Wednesday. Each child enrolled in 3 year old kindergarten is offered ONE of these days. Children are able to be dropped of any time during normal operating hours and all meals, resources and incursions are included in the daily fee.
Additional Long Day Care days can be permanently booked, if available, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Current daily fee of $140 is charged, with bookings attracting the Commonwealth Child Care Subsidy(CCS). All kindergarten bookings attract an additional Victorian Government ‘Free Kinder’ payment (upto $1025 per year) to reduce the gap fee. This payment will be applied to the kinder booking each month during school terms, and only after Centrelink has reconciled your CCS.
All bookings are permanent and continue through school holidays.
*PLEASE NOTE IN 2025 we will be offering 15 hours of 3yo Kindergarten over 2 days. You will be offered a Monday/Wednesday or Monday/Friday or Wednesday/Friday with the kinder program running between 8.30am - 4.30pm (7.5 hours per day). Additional Long Day Care days can be booked on a Tuesday or Thursday if available.
4YO KINDERGARTEN (Wombat Room) - 2024
Our 4 year old kindergarten program is delivered by an Early Childhood Teacher in an Sessional setting.
The program runs for 15 hours per week (8.30am—1.30pm) Monday to Friday. Each child is offered an enrolment of 3 days.
The Victorian Government ‘Free Kinder’ payment is paid directly to the service and covers all fees. Children are required to bring their own lunchbox with morning tea and lunch. Children are to be picked up at 1.30pm.
An Aftercare Kinder Care option is available for children to continue attending the Wombat room with pick up by 6pm. Bookings are made by term and will rollover if no changes are requested for the following term. Current Aftercare fee per day is $70.00 which attracts the Commonwealth Child Care Subsidy(CCS). Afternoon tea is provided in the Aftercare Program.
The 4YO Kindergarten program does not run through school holidays, however families have the opportunity to book their child into our Holiday Program which attracts the LDC fee of $140 which attracts any CCS entitlements.
*PLEASE NOTE IN 2025, 4yo kindergarten will be offering 15 hours of kindergarten in an Long Day Care Integrated setting where children are able to be dropped off and picked up any time during normal operating hours. You will be offered 3 days with the kinder program running between 8.30am - 1.30pm (5 hours per day). Additional Long Day Care days can booked on a Tuesday or Thursday in the Koala room if available. All bookings are permanent and continue through school holidays. Bookings attract our daily fee and Child Care Subsidy if eligible. The Victorian Free Kinder Subsidy will be applied to the weeks during school terms.
