Welcome to Nara
Front gate and entrance to Nara
‘Naraʼ is a Woiwurrung word meaning ‘companion.ʼ
We thank the Land of Wurundjeri.
We thank the sky where Bunjil the eagle soars high.
The waters are life that flows in our hearts.
Nara respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri People as the Traditional Custodians of the land we play, learn and connect on. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; and to Elders past and present.
Nara Community Early Learning Centre has been providing child-centred education and care since 1989. Located in Preston, our community minded centre is guided by a parent-run Committee of Management, and a caring team of qualified staff and educators. We provide a rich learning environment for children from six months of age through to primary school, supporting up to 68 children each day. Rooms are grouped to meet the needs of the children:
Joey Room, for children aged 6 months to 2 years
Possum Room, for children aged 2 to 3 years
Koala Room, for children aged 3 to 4 years, including 3-year-old kindergarten
Wombat Room, a 4-year-old kindergarten program for children aged 4 to 5 years.
Nara is open from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Friday.
The centre is closed on all Victorian Public Holidays and for three weeks over the December-January summer holidays.
