Nara Community Early Learning Centre is committed to creating a cleaner, healthier environment for our community by promoting sustainable practices. These practices include:

  • Embedding sustainability into our policies, procedures, decision-making and values to minimise our impact now and into the future.

  • Role modelling behaviours that value and protect the environment.

  • Engaging children in sustainable practices building a sense of responsibility.

Through our Sustainability Commitment Statement, we aim to:

  • Communicate, educate, and support sustainability awareness among children, families, educators, visitors, and the wider community.

  • Provide educators with professional learning and resources to embed sustainability across the program.

  • Comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and environmental standards where possible.

  • Promote sustainability by reducing waste, minimising consumption, and protecting wildlife and natural habitats.

  • Demonstrate exceeding practices aligned with the National Quality Standard, particularly Element 3.2.2.

  • Evaluate and critically reflect on current practices to identify new opportunities and goals for improving sustainability.
